Cold Saw Sharpening
Cold Saw Sharpening
Cold saw sharpening is performed to restore cutting accuracy, consistency, and overall blade performance in metal cutting applications. Each blade is carefully inspected before sharpening to evaluate tooth condition and wear. Precision sharpening restores proper tooth geometry, helping extend blade life, reduce downtime, and maintain reliable cutting results in both production and job shop environments.
Cold Saw Sharpening vs Replacement
Cold saw blade performance depends on tooth condition and blade integrity. Our inspection process determines whether sharpening or replacement is the best solution.
Sharpening Is Recommended When:
-
Sharpening Is Recommended When:
- Teeth are worn but not chipped or broken
- Cutting edges are dull or rounded
- Proper tooth geometry can be restored
- Blade body remains structurally sound
Sharpening restores cutting performance, extends blade life, and reduces tooling costs while keeping blades in service.
- Teeth are worn but not chipped or broken
-
Replacement Is Recommended When:
- Teeth are chipped, cracked, or broken
- Excessive wear prevents proper geometry
- Blade integrity or balance is compromised
- Continued use could affect cut quality or safety
Replacing the blade ensures reliable cutting performance when sharpening is no longer effective.
- Teeth are chipped, cracked, or broken
Our Sharpening Process
Inspection & Evaluation
Each cold saw blade is inspected upon arrival to evaluate tooth condition, wear patterns, and overall blade integrity. This inspection determines whether sharpening can restore cutting performance or if replacement is recommended.
CBN Steel Tooth Grinding
Cold saw teeth are sharpened using CBN (cubic boron nitride) grinding wheels on industrial-grade sharpening equipment designed specifically for steel and HSS teeth. This process restores proper rake, clearance, and cutting geometry, ensuring consistent cutting performance and extended blade life.
Final Quality Check
After sharpening, each blade undergoes a final inspection to verify tooth geometry, uniformity, and overall cutting consistency. Blades are reviewed to ensure they meet performance standards before being returned to service.
